The professorship's research areas include empirical software engineering, software analytics, software visualisation (2D, 3D, augmented and virtual reality), generative software development and software product lines, software economics and e-assessment. We present a selection of the corresponding research projects here.
Ongoing projects
The research group "Visual Software Analytics" develops and evaluates tools for interactive exploration of complex software systems in 2D, 3D and virtual reality. We combine insights and methods from the fields of software analytics, software visualisation, data science and empirical software engineering to extract, analyse and visualise software-related data. All of the tools developed as part of the research, such as Getaviz or jQA-Dashboard, are under an open source licence.
