After a rigorous selection process, which saw over 140 applicants vying for spots, the selection board ultimately settled upon 6 outstanding proposals, with a final seventh candidate expected this summer as well.
The PhD candidates hail from our partner universities in Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tunisia, Kenya, and Benin, and starting from June 1 will begin their research at their home universities, as well as becoming familiar with the ACCESS project.
We look forward to welcoming them to Leipzig, and can't wait to see where their research leads us!
