On the 6th and 7th of June, representatives of SEPT Competence Center participated in the kick-off event "Campus Initiative internationale Fachkräfte" organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Berlin.

This event brought together different higher education institutions from all over Germany involved in both the “FIT” (Promoting Academic Success and Labour Market Integration of International Talents) and “Profi Plus” (Academic Training for the German Labour Market) programs.

The event offered an incredible opportunity to learn about the potential of attracting more international professionals and leveraging the potential of immigration through universities. The DAAD kick-off provided a platform to share experiences, exchange ideas, and discuss strategies, methods, and best practices with colleagues from different higher education institutions in Germany as well as companies on how to attract young people from abroad to study in Germany and retain international academics.

Thank you to DAAD for organizing such a meaningful event!

SEPT Competence Center aims to specifically support the start-up ecosystem in Leipzig and Saxony by integrating skilled professionals from abroad into start-ups through the "Global Talent Ignite - Empowering International Academics for Start-up Careers in Germany" (GTI) program, which is part of the Profi Plus funding initiative.

In this context, GTI will offer adaptations of qualifications and formats to improve the employability of international academics, significantly enhancing their integration into young companies and start-ups in Germany. We are proud to be part of the Profi Plus initiative and look forward to implementing our knowledge and experience to help retain international academics in Leipzig and in the region.
