The goal of Leipzig Founder's Night is to award innovative ideas and growth-oriented startup business within the region of Leipzig. The target group of our competition includes students, scientists, entrepreneurs and businesses.

SMILE - die gründungsinitiative is a cooperative project of Leipzig University and the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. Since 2006, SMILE has been working to establish the entrepreneurial spirit at Leipzig’s universities and research institutes. The project is being supported by the European Union, the Free State of Saxony and the participating institutions.
The Leipzig Founders' Night is a networking and award event for the regional start-up scene and acts as an important forum for innovative business ideas, successful start-ups and the exchange of experiences between entrepreneurs in the City of Leipzig and the districts of Leipzig and North Saxony. The aim is to promote a positive climate for start-ups in our region and to encourage self-employment. The Leipzig Founders' Night 2021 was organized by the partners City of Leipzig, SMILE - die gründungsinitiative, the districts of Leipzig and North Saxony, the Stadt- und Kreissparkasse Leipzig and Startbahn 13 - Die Gründungsberatung at the HTWK Leipzig.
