Last week, following the kick-off event for Part 3 of our IDEA Summer School, and as usual, fun is a major part of our Summer School; we had our Thursday cooking session.

This time we introduced our participants to the delightful dish, which is a traditional German type of pancake with an applesauce “Eierkuchen & Apfelkompott”. Besides that, we had the chance to attend a virtual improvising theater show by Schwarzpulver that were on the virtual stage for SEPT's IDEA Summer school and performed for over an hour in English for our audience who were excellent at chatting!

Finally, our participants got a glimpse of Berlin's colonial history, Robert Koch and his colonial medical research, and discussed contemporary street names and activism - a great opportunity for a cross-cultural exchange about colonial history and how it is remembered in modern societies! In the end, the discussion concluded with Africa's perspective on the war in Ukraine.
