Prof. Dr. Paul Lehmann has been working at the Institute of Infrastructure and Resource Management since 2018: initially as a junior professor of economics, in particular environmental and energy economics - a professorship that was established in collaboration with the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research.
As part of this cooperation, Prof. Lehmann headed the interdisciplinary junior research group ‘Sustainable expansion of renewable energies with multiple environmental impacts - strategies for overcoming ecological conflicts of interest’. His scientific work focusses in particular on the economic evaluation and management of climate change adaptation measures and on sustainable strategies for the use and protection of water resources. His interdisciplinary approach combines economic analysis with ecological responsibility.
Prof. Lehmann received his doctorate in economics (summa cum laude) from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in 2010 with the topic ‘Using a Policy Mix to Combat Climate Change - An Economic Evaluation of Policies in the German Electricity Sector’.
